Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, has revealed why he believes the German World cup winner has not yet lived up to his transfer fee of £42.4m.
“I think, at Real [Madrid], he played in a very strong team,” Wenger told BeIn Sports, “and he had a very good season with us last year.
“But he had the World Cup and came back tired. We will see the best Ozil when he returns.”
The former Madrid man has not had a easy start to this campaign after returning from a successful Summer with the German team helping them lift the World Cup in Brazil, and has faced heavy criticism for his below par performances.
Mesut Ozil tore his knee ligaments in October and it is expected he will not feature for Arsenal until January, but Arsene is confident that Ozil will return to his former best.
