Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is pretty confident that Aaron Ramsey will sign a new contract extension with the club.
The Wales international ’s current deal expires at the end of the 2018/19 season and despite talks taking place, an agreement has yet to be reach.
Ramsey has been linked to host of clubs with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus this season. It was thought that he could follow the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and move to a different club.
But Wenger is adamant that he is not concerned about losing Ramsey and believes the club will strike a deal to extend his stay in north London.
“I am confident,” he said. “And it’s not end of his contract, he has one and a half years to go.
“We want him to stay because he’s one of the guys who has been here a long time and he will be an important player in the future of the club.
“On my side that is clear, but you always have to find an agreement.”
Wenger added: “We want the players to be happy to play for the club. With the values we think are important for us and with the right amount of money we want to pay them.
“All the three have to be together.”
Ramsey has been in great form lately, scoring a brace against CSKA Moscow in Europa League. He has been involved in 17 goals for Arsenal this season.
