Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed publicly that he is staying at the club. The Frenchman was asked about his future on beIN sports and he made it clear that he is prepared to sign a new contract at the Gunners, which would keep him on past this summer, which is when his current deal expires.

Wenger was asked about whether he would leave at the end of this season, to which he replied:

“Look, I’ve said that many times already, I’ve given my word to this club and I want to continue where I am.” He then added: “That means to stay.”

The Arsenal cheif has assured the board he will stay on, despite his stalling on a contract offer which has been in place for several months. However, even though Wenger has claimed all this he also recently added the caveat “Unless I decide otherwise.”

It was believed he wanted to see whether Arsenal would win the FA Cup, or whether they would finish in the top four but he has instead chosen to sign a new contract before both of these two things are decided.
