Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is interested in Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic, but he has also revealed that the chances of signing him in January are slim.

Munich have recently announced the signing of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund, but the Polish star will not join his new club until July, which is when his contract expires at his current club.

With Lewandowski joining, many people were suggesting that Mandzukic could look for a way out of the club already, but Wenger is aware that they won’t sell him this month, but they may look to sell as soon as the Polish striker arrives.

Wenger said: ‘Lewandowski is at Dortmund until the end of the season and they will not sell Mandzukic now – maybe at the end of the season.’
