Arsene Wenger dismisses double-striker bid

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club have made no approach for Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato or Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

It is well publicated that The Gunners are lacking depth in the forward-region, with just Olivier Giroud the recognised striker available at the moment for Wenger, much like it has been all season due to Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo being injured for long-periods.

However, it had been suggested this week that Wenger was in talks with Brazilian striker Pato and also Spanish forward Morata, with a ÂŁ6million bid rumoured for Pato and a loan-move rumoured for Morata, but those reports have been dismissed by the Frenchman, who was talking ahead of his side’s clash with Hull City tomorrow night.

“No. There is no truth in that. That is all I can say, I have not been in touch with them.” Wenger responded.
