The Arsenal manager stokes up the rivalry between the two sides, ahead of Monday’s Premier League encounter

Arsene Wenger has revealed he has “no sympathy” for Liverpool, after losing Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez in successive summer transfer windows.

Both Suarez and Sterling had been previously linked with moves to the Gunners, before signing for Barcelona and Manchester City respectively.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s Televised encounter against the Reds, Wenger added further fuel to the fire by revealing he feels no sympathy for his opposite number, Brendan Rodgers.

WENGER: “I cannot feel too much sympathy for them”

“Liverpool can make their own decisions. They refused to sell us Suarez, so I cannot feel too much sympathy for them,” said Wenger.

However, the Frenchman did acknowledge Rodgers predicament, by stating:”Let’s remember two years ago with Suarez, (Daniel) Sturridge and Sterling, Liverpool scored over 100 goals. You need special quality to do that, and Sterling was part of that.”
