Arsenal close to wrapping up two deals in the transfer window

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the club could be set to announce two more deals in this transfer window.

The club are close to signing FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny, with a formal announcement expected anytime soon, and Wenger has confirmed that two more deals are looking likely to happen as well.

Wenger has confirmed that left-back Nacho Monreal will be signing a contract extension at the club until 2019, and has also admitted Mathieu Debuchy might be on his way out of the club.

Speaking about his full-backs, Wenger admitted that the Spaniard has been offered a new deal and it should be done and finalised this month, while Debuchy is keen on leaving the club in order to get game-time ahead of the Euros this summer.

Monreal New Deal

When asked about Monreal, Wenger admitted: “Yes, we will announce that at some stage but it is not finished.

“It is not over the line completely but we are not far.”

Debuchy Wanting Out

The Frenchman was then asked about Debuchy, and he admitted that the Euros this summer are playing a big part in the right-back wanting to leave.

“Debuchy at the moment does not get the number of games,” he said.

“The European Championship is in France soon and it is difficult for him to deal with that.”
