Arsene Wenger feels standoff regarding Aaron Ramsey’s new contract situation could be solved before the season ends.
Ramsey was expected to sign on the dotted line as the club had fruitful negotiations with his representative. But suddenly things got really complicated and since then there hasn’t been any new contract offers on the table for Ramsey.
The midfielder has had his highs and lows this season as he has been tried in a number of new positions by the manager Unai Emery. The Spanish believes Ramsey could perform better if he is deployed higher up on the pitch but that hasn’t been the case.
The midfielder has clearly struggled to cope up with the new system. He has been one of the longest serving players at the Emirates and Wenger who brought the player back in 2008 offered a positive insight.
“We tried that before and it still can happen.
“I don’t really know what is happening at Arsenal. Sure, Aaron Ramsey is in a strong position now and he will use this position.
“But I don’t know how far Arsenal will go in terms of giving him a huge contract. These things were once my responsibility but not anymore. I am happy about that.”
