Arsenal are set to make a move for Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao in January after manager Arsene Wenger told the club’s board to stump up the £8m asking price.
The former Barcelona academy winger rose to prominence last year after making 35 appearances for Lazio, scoring 6 goals. He hasn’t played for the Serie A side since September 25, and was on the front pages rather than the back in October when he crashed his Lamborghini.
Arsene Wenger is hoping the player’s lack of appearances this season could tempt him to seek a new challenge. Diao has been limited to just four Coppa Italia games this year, but has still managed two goals.
The player himself is reported to be considering his options, but hasn’t ruled out leaving the club.
