Arsene Wenger has said he admires Porto striker Jackson Martinez, sparking speculation over a potential summer move to Arsenal.
The Colombia international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the last two transfer windows.
Wenger is keen to sign Martinez, but admits he faces competition to bring the player to the Emirates.
“[He has] top physical strengths,” Wenger said, speaking to beIN Sports.
“Hugely efficient, he is the kind of player who can make room for himself in the box.
“He could play in the Premier League because he has the body to make the difference.
“He uses it in a very intelligent way. Very short back lift and he’s a very good finisher.
“He’s on the list of many clubs, you know that. He will be the next big transfer who will give a big smile to Pinto da Costa [owner of Porto].”
Porto are historically a selling club, having flogged off: James Rodriguez, Radamel Falcao and Pepe among others, and will want top dollar for Martinez, to maximise profit on the transfer.
