Juventus wanted German international

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has silenced speculation of Ozil leaving for Juventus this summer after insisting that he will stay at the Emirates.

Newspaper and Television reports in Italy say the Italian giants are preparing a substantial bid for the German international, but will only make an official offer if either midfielder Arturo Vidal or Paul Pogba are sold.

The Serie A champions and Champions League runners-up would be willing to pay £29million for the attacking playmaker, despite him leaving the Bernabeu for the Emirates two years ago for £42.5million.

However, Wenger is adamant that the 26-year-old will not be leaving the Gunners this summer.

Wenger Issues Hands Off Warning

In response to Juventus showing interest in Ozil, Wenger said: “Ozil is our player, he will remain our player and he wants to remain our player.

“It is a big season for him because he had a difficult start last year and in the second part of the season he was very important.

“Ozil understands the rhythms of English football and he has improved his defensive attitude. He works hard, and offensively he is a top class player.” he added.
