Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has played down his side’s defeat to Manchester City yesterday as he doesn’t believe it has much significance on the Premier League title race.
A crazy game at the Etihad Stadium ended with 9-goals being scored, and six of them were from the hosts who seem unbeatable at home.
Goals from Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Alvaro Negredo, David Silva and a brace from Fernandinho gave City the vital victory which moves them just three points behind Arsenal, but Wenger doesn’t believe too much should be read into the result.
“They are one of the teams to beat, but no more than any other we have played until now,” Wenger said afterwards.
“We have played Everton and Southampton and they are as good as City.”
