Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes the club’s stability has helped them improve on the pitch since their opening day defeat to Aston Villa.

The Gunners lost 3-1 to Paul Lambert’s side at the Emirates Stadium which left numerous people questioning Wenger and the club, but since then, they have won every single game.

Wenger is now sitting top of the Premier League table and has two wins out of two in cup competitions, which includes an away win in Marseille.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Wenger has put it down to the stability of the club as to why they’ve improved.

“It [stability within the squad] creates a big difference on the confidence level because you know we have done well before with that group, so at least you have a basis,” Wenger told Arsenal Player. “The confidence that basis gives you is of course important.

“If all starts well then maybe not but where the stability was important I think is with our first shock against Aston Villa. The fact that we could say ‘look guys, we have been together for a while, we know that we have bounced back before, let’s do that again’. That is where the stability is important.”
