Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has remained quiet about the possible signing of former midfielder Mathieu Flamini amid reports suggesting the Frenchman could be on his way back to the Emirates Stadium.
Flamini, who left Arsenal for Italian side AC Milan, has recently left the San Siro on a free after his contract expired and he has been training with Wenger’s men to regain fitness ahead of the new season, but it appears that Wenger has been so impressed with the 29-year-old, that he wants to offer him a full-time contract.
However, during his press conference ahead of the Fulham game on Saturday, Wenger refused to talk about the potential deal for the midfield-man.
“He is just here to work on his fitness and he does that very well,” he said. “I don’t say there is no chance and I don’t say there is a chance [of him joining.”
