Arsene Wenger has revealed that he rejected a bid from Liverpool for Joel Campbell, according to The Daily Express.
The Costa Rican World Cup star has attracted interest from the likes of AC Milan and Galatasaray recently, having spent the last three seasons on loan away from Arsenal.
But Wenger has revealed that the 22 year old, who made his debut for the club in the 2-1 win at home to Crystal Palace, will stay at the club.
“He has come from a non-competitive world to a world with hyper-competition.
“He has adapted slowly, but has adapted very well, he has a very good spirit and attitude.
“He is a member of my squad at the moment, He had a good preparation and played well against Benfica.
“In training he is very focused and eager to do well. I would like to keep him.”
