Arsenal boss coy on the links
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has responded to transfer reports linking the club with signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.
The Swiss international has been heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium, and ahead of Arsenal‘s clash with Watford, Wenger was questioned about the latest reports.
It has been claimed that Wenger held talks with Xhaka‘s family regarding a move to the Premier League, and the Frenchman remained coy about the subject.
Wenger Responds to Xhaka Reports
He said: “At the moment we are starting to analyse players and get little lists of names, but I don’t think it’s the time for us to come out with names.”
It’s reported that Arsenal will activate the midfielder’s release clause, which is believed to be around ÂŁ35million, and they will also offer him a contract worth ÂŁ120k-a-week.
Arsenal scouts have also reportedly watched the midfielder play a whopping 30-times so far this season.
