Arsene Wenger has issued a response to his recent critics, stating that they have failed to bring him down.

The Arsenal manager has come under increased pressure of recent late, following a 3-2 away defeat at Stoke City.

First-half goals from Peter Crouch, Bojan, and John Walters proved to be enough for Stoke to pick up the three points, despite Arsenal netting twice late on, through Santi Cazorla, and Aaron Ramsey.

And Wenger, who has been at the North London club for 18 years, said negatives fans do not get to him.

When asked if they did, he replied: ‘No, not at all. We have to cope with that.

‘We are professional footballers and football people. I am a competitive person.

‘What is important is the next game and responding in a strong way. It is part of our job. We cannot always look for excuses. We are down. Everyone feels it.

‘When you have a disappointment you have to respond. You cannot guarantee you will never lose a game.

‘Many teams will lose at Stoke. You have to be realistic. Look, the response after a defeat is always important.
