Arsene Wenger has finally ruled out a move for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira. There has been intense speculation about a Khedira move to the Emirates over this past month and Wenger has twice been asked about the reported interest in the German.
When asked both times, he refused to rule out a £24m move for the midfielder. However, the Gunners boss has now ruled out any potential move for the 27-year old. He told reporters: “We were never close to signing him because we have quite a few offensive box-to-box players.”
Real Madrid are desperate to offload Khedira this month so that they can gain some cash from him, rather than let him leave on a free next summer when his contract runs out. The only other current option is Chelsea. They have had previous interest in the German but it is believed that they are now looking at other options.
