Arsene Wenger is set to sign a two-year contract extension with Arsenal, according to reports.

The 67-year-old manager has already signed the dotted line on a new deal which will see him stay at the Emirates Stadium for the next two terms, according to Inside World Football columnist Matt Scott.

It is now reported that the Gunners are now just waiting for a suitable time to announce the decision to their fans and the public.

Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, their fourth loss in their last five Premier League games, has left Arsenal in sixth position in the table and now six points behind Liverpool who are fourth.

Speaking after the game, Wenger claimed that he has already made up his mind whether he will leave Arsenal after 21 years or not.

“I will announce my future soon,” the Frenchman said. “You will soon know and very soon – you will.”

Gunners supporters have continued to go against Wenger and a bunch of fans organised a plane to fly above The Hawthorns which had the message ‘NO CONTRACT #WENGEROUT’ emblazoned on the banner.

Due to the growing concern among fans, Arsenal were forced to issue a statement earlier this month, stating that they ‘understood’ feelings from supporters who were unhappy.

“Arsene has a contract until the end of the season,” said Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick.

“Any decisions will be made by us mutually and communicated at the right time in the right way.”
