Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is surprised about the amount of goals midfielder Aaron Ramsey is scoring, after the Welshman netted once again last night against Marseille in the Champions League.

The 22-year-old gave The Gunners a 2-0 lead late in the second-half which added to his already impressive goalscoring tally so far this campaign and he has now taken his figures to six goals in just seven games, including braces against Fenerbache and Sunderland.

Ramsey’s form has been superb so far this season and he has proven many doubters wrong with the majority of football fans claiming that he won’t be able to recover from his serious leg injury back in 2010.

However, the Welshman is proving a real hit for Wenger and after the game, he admitted himself that he is surprised about the number of goals Ramsey is scoring.

“Honestly, I didn’t expect him to score so many but he has improved his passing and technical quality,” said Wenger.

“That is the most important thing, because he is always in a good position in the box.

“Scoring is a bit cyclic, but for me the most important thing is the quality of his game.”
