Manager admits his tactics were wrong

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has held his hands up and admitted it was his fault that they lost to Dinamo Zagreb last night.

The Gunners fell to a 2-1 defeat in Croatia to start their Champions League campaign, and despite Olivier Giroud getting sent off in the first-half, Wenger has taken the blame for the loss.

Arsenal made six changes from the side that beat Stoke City, clearly thinking about the Chelsea game on Saturday, and after the match, Wenger admitted he got things wrong.

Wenger Accepts Blame

“You know that when you don’t win the game you have to look at yourself and think, ‘I didn’t get it right,'” said Wenger.

“I personally don’t believe that the players who came in had a bad game. It just didn’t work. We know we have to do that again. We were maybe a bit unlucky and maybe lacked cohesion or some competition in some situations.

“I have to analyse that. It’s very difficult to give you a definite answer straight after the game.”
