Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is wary of the threat that Italian side Napoli will pose his side on the final day of the Champions League group stages, but he expects his players to finish the job and gain qualification to the knockout stages.

A 2-0 win over Marseille last night ensured that The Gunners have qualification in their own hands and they also know that if they avoid a heavy defeat in Naples, they will qualify.

In fact, Wenger’s men just have to avoid losing by three-clear goals in order to finish in the top-two of their tough group, but the manager is wary of the threat that they will come up against when they travel to Italy.

“It would be a mistake to think we just don’t have to lose big,” said Wenger.

“We have to play in a positive way and try to win the game, anything else will be a gamble.”

“It’s the first time I’ve seen that [12 points is not enough] after 150 Champions League games,” said Wenger, whose Premier League leaders secured an impressive 1-0 victory in Dortmund earlier this month.

“It’s unbelievable but it’s reality. It’s tricky but we have to finish the job. I will have to play a full-strength team against Napoli. I can’t take any risks.”
