Arsene Wenger worried about gap opening up

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has already expressed his concern about the gap between his side and the leading pack in the Premier League.

After eight games, Arsenal already find themselves 10 points behind leaders Chelsea. The lead at the top was extended this weekend after Chelsea won and Arsenal lost away at Norwich.

The Gunners currently find themselves ninth in the table with 12 points from their opening eight games. A positive though for Arsenal will be the fact that they have already faced teams like Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, but if they carry on dropping points against lower teams like Norwich, it may be a long season for Wenger and his men.

After the Norwich game, Arsene Wenger, spoke about the gap extending between Arsenal and rivals, Chelsea.

“The gap is very unpleasant,” conceded Wenger.

“We had an opportunity that Tottenham could win and we could win, and we both lost. That of course makes the gap a lot bigger.

“You cannot say you do not worry about that, but what is more disappointing is that we could not score.

“After we went 1-0 down we had the ball for 70 minutes and could not score a goal.”

Wenger will have to pick up his players as they face Schalke on Wednesday in the Champions League at the Emirates.
