Roman Abramovich wants hefty price for Special One

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has told AS Monaco that if they want to sign Jose Mourinho, they will have to fork out £71million.

A stakeholder from the Ligue 1 club has reportedly met up with the Chelsea owner to discuss Mourinho‘s availability and future, but Abramovich was quick to fend off their interest.

The Russian isn’t prepared to sack Mourinho just yet, with the fans still on the Portuguese’s side, but with two crucial games coming up, it could be a make-or-break week for the Special One.

Monaco Talks

With Mourinho’s future in the air, Monaco were keen to hold talks with the Premier League champions, and according to reports, a stakeholder met up with Abramovich.

Monaco were prepared to offer around £35million for the manager, only to be told they’d need to double that bid.

Alessandro Proto is the guy that met up with Abramovich, and he’s told reports that Chelsea wanted too much for Mourinho.

“We offered €50 million to have the coach immediately, but the request was €100m and that figure seems exaggerated,” Proto Enterprises said in a statement to EFE.
