If reports from Sport Mediaset are to be believed, AS Roma are keen on striking a player-plus-cash deal with Inter Milan for Mauro Icardi including Edin Dzeko.

Icardi’s future at the San Siro is precarious at the moment. The Argentine is keen on quitting the Nerrazurri and joining rivals Juventus.

However, with the striker taking time to decide on his future, the Bianconeri are prepared to wait and table an offer by deadline day.

AS Roma, in the meanwhile, want to sell Edin Dzeko and view him as the perfect sweetener in the deal for Icardi.

However, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is willing to include a clause in the deal that will forbid the Argentinian from joining his former club. Napoli are also said to be interested in his services.

Icardi has missed all the preseason friendlies under new boss Antonio Conte and is also being excluded from all the tactical exercises. Inter have also signed Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United to replace the 26-year-old.

Icardi has only three weeks to decide his future but his destination still remains unclear. Inter Milan are set to start their Serie A campaign against Lecce on 27 August.
