Ashley Young couldn’t hide his disappointment following Manchester United’s defeat against Liverpool.

United hardly looked convincing in the match what could have swung their fate. Liverpool dominated the entire evening and the Red Devils defence had to withstand their attacking threat with utmost attention.

The Reds had 36 attempts on target which shows the massive gap United are currently having with Liverpool. The Merseysiders have been the team to beat this season and are yet to be defeated this term.

Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been able to win any trophy since his arrival at the club but the prospect is getting brighter with each day passing. On the contrary, United are reeling in the sixth place and need to ramp up the intensity more in a bid to find themselves in the top four.

Young said, “It’s disappointing.

“I don’t think there’s much more we can say.

“Obviously there’s two deflections but at times when we got back into the game at 1-1, I think we could have gone on to win the game.

“But it wasn’t meant to be and, like I say, it’s disappointing.

“It is always disappointing to obviously concede.

“I think we were containing them. There was a lot of pressure obviously in the second half, which we knew.

“I didn’t think they were going to score, then obviously the two deflected goals, you know, it deflates us and obviously they go on to win the game.

“Like I say, it’s definitely a disappointment.”
