Goals from Andros Townsend and Roberto Soldado were enough to give Tottenham Hotspur all three-points at Villa Park today, which moves them up to fifth in the Premier League, whilst Villa stay 13th.

Below is some match-reaction from after the game.

Tottenham midfielder Sandro on his side’s performance at Villa Park:

“It was very good. After losing against West Ham, everyone had their heads down. It was a hard game and we have to enjoy this moment.”

“I feel very good coming to the field today, as I was out for a very long time. I have to enjoy this time, as it was very hard for me to get back playing again.”

Andros Townsend after scoring during the victory:

“It’s been one of the best few weeks of my life. The main thing was getting back to winning ways after the defeat by West Ham. We didn’t have the best of first halves as Aston Villa defended very well.

“My goal was a cross. I’m not going to take credit for it but it put us on the way to a great three points.

“The main thing for me now is to keep my feet on the ground and not to get too carried away.”

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas:

“It was a great performance. We improved with time because the beginning was difficult, as we had lots of longs balls to deal with.

“The opening goal was important to bring confidence and we really played well in the second half. We deserved to go 2-0 up.

“It was the right response after the defeat by West Ham and it is good to see us near the top.

“Andros Townsend had a great game. He didn’t start well but really picked up after his goal. He is a great threat. His pace and ability to beat a man, he takes the team forward.”
