According to reports from Marca, Atletico Madrid will announce the signing of Joao Felix some time today. Felix has reportedly undergone a medical at Atletico Madrid and has signed a contract at the club. The Portuguese teenager arrived at Madrid on Tuuesday and signed a contract yesterday.
Joao Felix established himself as one of the most talented young footballers in the world through his performances for Benfica last season. In 43 appearances across all competitions, Felix netted 20Â goals and provided 11 assists.
His performances attracted interested from Manchester United and later, Manchester City. Then, Atletico Madrid joined the race and have reportedly roped him in.
Atletico Madrid have already lost a number of key players with Lucas Hernandez joining Bayern Munich while Antoine Griezman, Diego Godin and Juanfran have left the club. They could also lose Rodri with Manchester City and Bayern Munich interested in signing him. Hence, they need some reinforcements in the summer and the addition of Felix could help the club immensely.
