La Liga winners Atletico Madrid want Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle, and are ready to make him their number-one transfer target, according to reports in Spain.
The World Cup winner joined The Blues last Summer from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for a fee around £18million, and he managed to net nine times in all competitions during his debut season in England, including a hat-trick against Fulham in the Premier League.
Diego Simeone has been busy already in the transfer window due to losing both Diego Costa and David Villa, but after securing Mario Mandzukic and Antoine Griezmann, they are ready to add Schurrle to their attacking options.
The German international then starred during his nations World Cup win, netting three goals along the way, and after his impressive displays in Brazil, Jose Mourinho is keen to use him more this season, but will face a tough job in keeping the 23-year-old as Madrid look set to ramp up their interest.
