Didier Drogba has talked up Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier’s chances of becoming a star if a move to the Premier League is sealed.
The Ivorian defender has been continously linked with Arsenal, with reports suggesting that Arsenal were close on securing a deal to bring the player to the Emirates this summer.
Aurier proved his worth in Ivory Coast’s opening game against Japan, assisting two goals to complete the comeback after going 1-0 down.
And Drogba believes his countryman has all the qualities to succeed in the top flight.
“Serge brought us energy and balance and he had a fantastic game,” Drogba told Fifa.com
“He’s the best right-back in all of France.
“I think he’ll do well at the next level too, in the Premier League.”
The 21-year-old scored six goals in Ligue 1 last season.
