QPR forward Charlie Austin has rubbished reports linking him with a switch to Old Trafford.
The Loftus Road hitman was expected to leave the club for ÂŁ15m after they were relegated from the Premier League.
United were understood to be looking into acquiring Austin late in the transfer window as they set about bolstering their attack ahead of a title push.
United Was Never An Option
But the player himself has insisted that these were merely rumours, telling The Sports Bar: “No. That was never on the cards. Not from what I was aware of”.
Austin did however confirm he rejected a move back to the top flight so he could stay with QPR and help gain promotion.
United ended up signing Monaco teenager Anthony Martial on deadline day after letting a number of players go.
