Axel Witsel is desperate to play in the Premier League, but also insists that he is prepared to wait until he feels ready.

The Zenit St Petersburg midfielder has only been applying his trade in Russia for a year after his ÂŁ30million move from Portuguese side Benfica, but he has admitted that he dreams of playing for a ‘big club’ in England.

The Belgium international has been superb for his country and has helped them qualify for the 2014 World Cup next year in Brazil and the 24-year-old has admitted that his future will be decided after the tournament.

“I’ve an objective in my head and I want to join a big club,” he is quoted by Het Laatste Nieuws.

“But I don’t say it has to happen now, I don’t even know when, but it has to be a top club.”

“Then I think about the Premier League, the league everyone’s looking at. You have eight top clubs there.”

Currently in the Belgium squad there are several Premier League stars, so maybe they will start persuading Witsel to join their club next Summer.
