Marseille forward Andre Ayew has ended any speculation over his future by agreeing a new contract at the Ligue 1 side.
The Frenchman was courting interest from Premier League sides Liverpool and Arsenal, who had hoped to secure his services in the January transfer window. But, he has signed an extension to his deal, thus ruling out a move.
The 24 year-old was thought to be available for a nominal price in January, but after speaking with the chairman he has agreed to stay at the Stade Velédrome.
Now operating without an agent, the striker said “It’s true I have agreed a new one year deal,”
He prolongs his stay with the club into his ninth season, during which time he has scored 52 goals in 178 games.
