Bacary Sagna takes dig at Arsenal

Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna has taken a dig at former-club, Arsenal, ahead of his return to the Emirates Stadium next week.

The Frenchman swapped Arsenal for City this Summer after his contract expires in North London, and he has been quick to back his decision to move and has taken a dig at his former-employers in the process.

The 31-year-old has claimed that his move to City has helped boost his career and despite admitting that Arsenal is a family club, City is a better one for his career.

Sagna, who has only featured once so far for his new side, in a 1-0 home defeat to Stoke City, is expected to have a hot reception on his return to the Emirates, and these comments will not help his cause either.

‘This was the right time for me to leave Arsenal. I wanted to see somewhere new and boost my career,’ Sagna said.

‘I am now part of a much deeper squad at City, where it’s even harder for me to win a first-team place. But I feel more powerful than ever.’
