The City defender is more than happy to remain in Manchester.

Sagna left the Gunners on the back of an F.A. Cup triumph but one year later his new side look set for a season without a trophy.

The French international joined the Citizens on a free transfer but has had an underwhelming season, making just the 16 appearances.

When asked whether he regretted his move from London Sagna replied: “No, not at all.

“I see a lot of comments from fans saying I should have stayed at Arsenal but if I had to do it again, if I had to come back and sign for City, I would have done it again.”

“I’m happy because I came to the champions.”

The City defender went on to explain how he is “here to look forward and to progress,”

“When I signed I just wanted to come, give the maximum, and give my best for the club then after, it’s life, no?”

“Everyone looks forward in the same direction, we want to be successful as a team and the coach and the staff and everyone is part of the team.”

A dismal season for City

Manuel Pellegrini’s men were in contention for a treble before Christmas but in the space of three months have thrown it all away.

When asked what Sagna thought of how the season had unfolded he said “We are doing our best to get back to a winning team and to finish the season well.”
