Gareth Bale is open to the opportunity to return to Tottenham.
The Welsh star is currently at Real Madrid where he earns over half a million pound in salary every week but he has been all but pushed away from football.
His former teammate Andros Townsend hence believes that Bale could be open to a move back to Real Madrid.
“I think if anything the Bale situation, he’d want to go back to Spurs,” he said.
“The memories of Spurs. His happiness.
“He was the main man. He was loved. He was at the top of his game. So, if anything I think it would work the other way.
“He would be like ‘I wish I was at Spurs now and had the freedom to do whatever I want.
“To express myself and not worry about where I am now where I get scrutinised for playing golf.”
The player is currently at loggerheads with Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane who has indirectly made it clear that he would rather play with 10 men than use their most expensive and highest paid player.
However, the stumbling block of problem both teams would have is agreeing to Bale’s wages which the player is not going to buckle down on!
