Real Madrid star Gareth Bale thinks that Real is more of a team following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus this summer. He scored his first two goals for the club in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo.
Many have said that Gareth Bale will have to become Real Madrid’s talisman following Ronaldo’s departure. The Welshman has done good so far. In four matches, Bale has scored three goals and has provided two assists. In Ronaldo’s absence, Real have started La Liga well. They are unbeaten so far but are also two points behind Barcelona.
However, Bale has said that Ronaldo’s departure has benefited Madrid. He said, “Obviously it’s going to be a little different from having such a big player there. It’s maybe a bit more relaxed, yes. I suppose there is more of a team, more working as one unit rather than one player.
Real Madrid begin their Champions League campaign against AS Roma on Wednesday. Real’s group also consists of CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen.
