Brendan Rodgers has offered hints as to how he will sign Mario Balotelli if and when the forward completes his £16m move to Anfield. The Reds boss didn’t reveal any updates on how the move was progressing, as he opened the press conference with: “I can categorically tell you that I can’t speak about him.”

He did however put to rest any fears about how the striker’s behaviour when he joins, as he claimed that the Italian has agreed to adhere to the clubs ‘intensive’ code of conduct. Rodgers said: “We have an intensive code of conduct for any member of staff here. That covers everyone, not one particular individual.

“Nothing will ever shake our fantastic environment. We’ve got a learning environment for players.”

Balotelli has today headed to Merseyside to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Anfield. All personal terms and fees have now been agreed and it is expected that he will complete the move over the weekend, although he won’t be able to play against his former club Man City on Monday.
