Chelsea’s young striker Patrick Bamford has hailed the signings of both Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, in an interview with the clubs official website.

The 20 year old himself is looking to break into the first team this summer, after impressing during loan spells at League One side Milton Keynes Dons, and Championship side Derby County, scoring 25 goals in both spells last season.

Bamford is a target of several clubs, including the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County and Queens Park Rangers, who are all willing to take the rising star on loan for the 2014/15 campaign.

He is currently out in Austria on Chelsea’s pre-season tour, and admitted that he is learning a great deal from the Spanish international duo of both Costa and Fabregas.

“It’s great watching them and you can learn a lot just from playing with them, watching the way they protect the ball and that type of thing,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“Playing with top players always helps improve your own game, so it’s great to also have the likes of Cesc Fabregas here as well.

“You can always pick up little tips to help your own game. Obviously there are certain things other players can do that I can’t, because of the difference in style and body shape, but I’m always trying to learn.

“For example, I’ve been watching the way they play with their back to goal, Diego is so strong and looks really good, so hopefully I can take something from what I’ve seen in training.”
