Banned from saying goodbye

Former Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has been banned from saying goodbye to his Swansea players and entering the Swan’s training camp. The Dane, who led Swansea to Capital One Cup glory last year, was sacked on Tuesday night after a recent run of poor results put Swansea 2 points above the relegation zone. Fans were outraged, and it has now emerged that Laudrup will not be allowed into the Swansea training ground to thank his players.

“The players have been fantastic,” said Laudrup, “their contribution under the professional guidence of myself and my coaching staff have been vital to the club’s recent success. Whilst league results have been disappointing, we are still 12th in the table and it is there for all to see that fine margins mean a small amount of points separate the bottom 11 teams in the table.”

Despite the poor league form, Laudrup has managed to guide Swansea into the knockout stage of the Europa League this season, and the team are still in the FA Cup, leading many fans and players to be unsettled by his departure.
