Vice-president Susana Monje has claimed the club can afford to make transfers this winter

Barcelona are on the lookout for some signings in January, according to the club’s vice-president.

Susana Monje has today spoken out about making some transfers in January and it’s all good news for Barca fans, as she claimed: “The club can afford to make a (transfer) effort this winter, yes. We are in control.

“We can afford it. I am very satisfied. The club has room and can afford to sign (players).”

The Catalan Giants current transfer embargo will be lifted in 2016 and it means they are free to once again bring in and sell some players. They already have a number of relatively big names on their shopping list and it could be a January to remember for Barcelona fans.

One of their main targets is Nolito, who has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp for quite some time. In addition, Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho is another name that is being linked with a move and so is Chelsea’s Diego Costa. Sofiane Feghouli, Marco Reus and Aaron Ramsey have also all been suggested.

If some of those deals go through, it could be a very busy but interesting month in Spain.
