Real Madrid could face a huge blow in their quest to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard. Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Juventus, Hazard is at the top of Real Madrid’s wishlist. However, Chelsea refuse to talk on a deal unless a transfer fee of £178 million is laid. Even though Madrid are willing to bid Chelsea’s requested amount for Hazard, a ‘plan’ from Barcelona could bring a situation where Real Madrid would have to pay more than Chelsea’s asking price.
According to Spanish digital newspaper Okdiario, Barcelona are aware of the fact that they won’t be able to sign Hazard. So, their present aim is to make sure that Real Madrid don’t sign the Belgian either.
Barca are now planning to show interest in signing Hazard so that Chelsea’s asking price goes higher. The Blaugrana are hoping that the price will rise to an extent that Real won’t be able to pay.
With Barca’s third bid for another Chelsea player Willian rejected, they will now try to prevent their arch-rivals from signing Eden Hazard.
