Nou Camp chief doesn’t expect any departures

Premier League sides have been dealt a massive blow after a FC Barcelona chief confirmed that they have no intentions of selling Pedro.

The Spanish winger is reportedly on the brink of an exit from the Catalan club, with Manchester United favourites to land him, but a chief from Spain has confirmed that they don’t intend to sell the star this summer.

However, in Pedro‘s new four-year deal, he has a release clause worth ÂŁ22million, meaning the power will be out of Barca‘s hands if a club agrees to meet that clause.

United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been linked with the Spaniard after he fell down the pecking order behind Neymar and Lionel Messi, and with Arda Turan arriving in January, first-team opportunities are looking bleak.

Despite the reported interest, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu, has confirmed that no team has made a formal offer for the 28-year-old.

Pedro Staying?

“The team is what it is,” the Barca chief said. “It has been put together. We have the team that our coach wanted – it’s done and completed.

“We don’t foresee any departures from the team. I’ve read many things about a Pedro departure, but no one has officially addressed our club. Our squad is complete.”
