Barcelona eyeing shock free-deal for Jordan Henderson

According to reports, FC Barcelona are considering a shock move for Liverpool star, Jordan Henderson.

The Englishman has only 18-months left on his contract and with Barca’s transfer embargo ending next January, they may look to arrange a free transfer for next Summer.

Due to the Bosman Rule, overseas clubs can talk to Premier League players as soon as they enter the last six months of their deal. The rule even allows players to sign pre-contracts with a club of their choice, which would then see them move at the end of their deal.

Liverpool are aware of Henderson’s contract situation and are in deep talks with the vice-captain, who is seen as the long-term replacement of Steven Gerrard, and they are hopeful that a new deal will be signed before the end of the season.

However, if Henderson continues to stall on signing a new deal, the Spanish giants could put their foot in and tempt the Englishman to the Nou Camp.

Despite no formal interest as of yet, Barca have sent scouts over to England to watch Henderson in action, and with two goals in his last two games, they are bound to be impressed.
