Liverpool look set to lose their star striker as Barcelona prepare to bid for the Uruguayan, this comes after Barcelona’s sporting director Adnoni Zubizarreta hailed the striker as ‘honourable’ for apologising to Georgio Chiellini after his latest bite constrovicy.
Suarez who has been seriously courted by Barcelona in the last couple of weeks recieved a four month ban from all football activity for his bite on the Italian defender when the two national sides met in their final group game on Tuesday 24th June. Although Suarez has not actually admitted that he did deliberately bite the defender he has aplogised via Twitter.
Adnoni Zubizarreta has praised Suarez for his apology, ‘Suarez had the honour to come out and apologise for his actions and now it’s time for him to start the start to begin the recovery process,’ were the words of the Catalan club’s sporting director.
With Liverpool apparently ready to sell Suarez after the third biting incident in his career, Barcelona look the likely destination for the Uruguayan hitman who bagged 31 goals in 33 Premier League appearances last season. It is believed by some that Suarez’s aplogy was demanded by Barcelona before any transfer to take him from Anfield takes place.
