Barcelona have launched a bid to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the summer.
The highly-rated Belgian, currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, is Barcelona’s No 1 target to replace Victor Valdes.
Chelsea don’t want to sell Courtois but the 21-year-old is worried he will not get a chance at Stamford Bridge due to Petr Cech’s continued good form, and would be tempted by a move to the Nou Camp.
Barcelona have already made contact with the London club over a possible deal but Chelsea want at least ÂŁ17m to sell.
Atletico Madrid are also keen on a permanent deal but the price tag is likely to put them off. They could turn to Liverpool’s Pepe Reina – on loan at Napoli – if they fail to lure Courtois.
Courtois, who has 14 caps for his country, has repeatedly said he will decide his future in February.
