FC Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta will stay at the club despite rejecting a contract extension, according to the player’s father.
Reports broke out today revealing that the Spaniard, who has been at the club for 18-years, rejected an offer from the club which would see him extend his current deal that expires in 2015.
Despite rejecting the offer, it is still widely thought that Iniesta will eventually agree a deal with the Catalan side and according to his father, there shouldn’t even be anyone questioning whether or not the Spanish international will accept.
“Anyone who knows Andres, who has spent 18 years at Barcelona, shouldn’t doubt his words”. The father said.
“Andres is still vital to Barcelona’s style of play.”
It is also rumoured that both Manchester clubs are interested in the 29-year-old and they are both closely monitoring the situation for a potential future bid.
