Barcelona are planning to hold contract talks with manager Ernesto Valverde. The Spaniard is on his last year of the contract and the Catalan giants are likely to sit with his representative to address the contract issues.
There were concerns as Valverde replaced the outgoing Luis Enrique at the Camp Nou. Enrique had an illustrious managerial career with Barcelona and emulating the feat would be termed as a great achievement for the former Athletic Bilbao manager.
Valverde is expected to be at the helm of the side for the next few seasons as Barcelona technical director Eric Abidal is going to put things into places in the next few days.
The gaffer had a great start as Barcelona conquered the La Liga pretty dominantly last season and also went on to win the Copa Del Rey. In Champions League they had a disappointing run as AS Roma inflicted a shocking defeat on them in the quarterfinal to knock them out of the competition.
Barcelona have been pretty busy in the transfer market bringing the likes of Malcom, Arthur and Arturo Vidal as they are aiming to stamp their authority once again. They are also hoping to shrug off their Champions League woes after their repeated failures in Europe in the last few seasons.
