Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu has made a shock revelation about the club’s desire to move for a player from rival outfit, Real Madrid.

Isco is quite understandably not in the long-term plans of Santiago Solari and this has provoked the Blaugrana to start monitoring the midfielder.

In paper, it all makes sense since the Spaniard is a perfect fit into Barcelona’s system. He is technically adept and can play from both central and wing positions. However, it is the historical relationship between the two clubs which makes us question the possibility of the transfer.

Isco is only 26 now and is still in the prime of his career. While Madrid might not have much use for him now trading him away to their biggest rivals could severely cost them in both long and short terms.

The Galacticos are still 8 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga title race. They are still looking for a marquee signing to take over Cristiano Ronaldo’s vacant spot. Florentino Perez has made Eden Hazard his number 1 summer target since the Chelsea player revealed that he plans on leaving the Stamford Bridge after this season.

Bartomeu revealed, “If our coaches asked us for a player and they want to leave Madrid, of course, we would sign them. But it has not happened since I’m here.”

“There are no non-aggression pacts. Each one tries to make their team more competitive. Isco? For the sake of Real Madrid, I would speak with the president of Real Madrid [Florentino Perez].”
