According to reports, Spanish giants FC Barcelona will allow French defender Samuel Umtiti if they receive an offer in the range of £45m. The 25-year-old signed a new contract last summer, but it seems he might be on the move after falling down the pecking order at Noua Camp.
Umtiti’s 2018/19 season was plagued by injuries, forcing the Catalans to look for a replacement in the transfer market. While they haven’t been able to find any, the Frenchman’s departure looks all the more certain.
Manchester United were said to be eyeing a move for Umtiti, viewing him as an alternative for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire. The Foxes want £90m for their prized asset and have already rejected United’s £70m bid for the player.
Arsenal are also said to be interested in signing the 25-year-old, given Maguire’s mammoth asking price. Italian giants Juventus have also shown interest in signing the defender, but there has been no concrete offer tabled yet.
